Boonen on cocaine, cycling suffers again.

Tom Boonen - Tour de France green jersey winner, Paris-Roubaix double-champion, Tour of Flanders double-champion and Specialized bicycles spokesperson - recently tested positive for cocaine use in an out-of-competition test, part of the sports anti-doping rules.
While not “performance enhancing” the individual blight is another scar on the tattered body of professional cycling - a sport [...]

HP’s Maestro, Touchsmart PC ad

Produced by Psyop for Goodby Silverstein + Partners, this ad uses music by Vivaldi and is a vivid overall concept for a PC’s visual interface. Nevermind the overdone usage of a concerting maestro, the execution is near perfect - and it’s a better spot than Apple can do (right now).

Peeve.

Blog posts that include lame images that are supposed to be depictions of the post topic. Usually they’re images stolen from stock photo sites. Like a blog post about the future of marketing, and then an image of a hwy exit sign that reads “future.” That is so soft.

Sharpie is also the unofficial international marker [...]

Neighborhood matchmaking.

hoodeo.com - you have a long way to go. This could have easily been a more sophisticated series of questions, better options and even a really simple way to monetize with the results (but i’m not telling)… I guess we’ll have to see what happens after beta.

JCPenney, Speed Dressing was NOT official material.

Yesterday we posted about JC Penney, this ad was created by a third party vendor, without JCPenney’s consent or approval from Saatchi & Saatchi. Tsk tsk on someone.
Yet kudo’s to a quick response from JCPenney and Saatchi & Saatchi. The ad will be removed from circulation.

Garmin sponsors clean cycling team on its way to Tour de France

Elite cycling team Slipstream, now known-as Garmin-Chipotle, has added the global leader in satellite navigation as a sponsor.
Slipstream is all about clean competition (and argyle). In a sport that’s been brought to its knees by drug abuse, relentless accusations and winners stripped of their jerseys, Slipstream is saying what everyone says (until proven guilty). But [...]
